Laura Gonzales is SUCH A GOOD GUITARIST that I just can’t understand how her channel can have just 14 thousand subscribers…? She is SO TALENTED, that she must be one of the most talented women that play flamenco guitar. She has a technique that can put down like half of the flamenco musicians in Spain. Laura Gonzales is the ultimate proof that there is absolutely no difference between a girl and a boy playing flamenco guitar.
I must admit that I heard about her for the first time on YouTube. That is maybe a shame because I would LOVE to have been able to hear her playing live. I am sure that it would be an amazing experience. Although her scene apparition is no big deal, her musical abilities are nothing short of amazing. I really don’t know that much about Laura Gonzales. There are only two videos on YouTube that she put up. This Granaina, and just one more Alegrias, unfortunately. But I am quite SURE that her opus must be much bigger. It’s just obvious from her playing… I just don’t want to guess what could have happened so she stopped putting up videos. She was born in 1980, and she must have learned classical music harmony first. Then she joined and finished the Cordoba Conservatory for Flamenco, Rafael Orozco. Laura reminds me of Mercedes Lujan in a way, not only for their physical beauty but first their internal strength…
I must say that her facial expressions are quite limited, and I really have no clue – why..? She reminds me of Gerardo Nunez somehow… He is also quite closed when his facial expressions are in question. Guys, flamenco is a PURE PASSION, and if you don’t use this opportunity to show your feelings, where and when will you do it…? Just wondered, she must be a bit the same in private, because all the musicians I ever met who were closed for any mimicry, were just as closed in their private life. I can’t say that for Laura Gonsales and be one hundred percent sure of it, but I am quite convinced, based on my almost four decades of experience now…
I am sorry to have to say this, but this is just the way it is… I am gonna make an educated guess and say that Laura got married and dedicated her life to raising kids. That is no lesser achievement, btw, so guessing she’ll be back to the flamenco scene as soon she finishes raising her infants…
