Manolo Sanlucar (Manuel Muñoz Alcón) is a very important figure in the world of flamenco guitar. He was a great friend and a colleague with Paco De Lucia. That collaboration brought a very fertile touch to the development of the flamenco in the second half of the 20th century but also at the beginning of the 21st.

Manolo Sanlucar composed such important pieces like bulerias “Impetu”, that Paco De Lucia played. It changed flamenco already from the ’70s, searching for new consonances, and a new, more ruptured, rhythmical expression. Manolo was awarded “Premio Nacional de Música” for interpretation in 2000 and has a very extensive discography, from his “Recital Flamenco” from 1968.

Esa colaboración aportó mucho al desarrollo del flamenco y en la segunda mitad del siglo XX pero también y a principios del XXI. Esta “Sevillana a Dos Guitarras” es una pieza de arreglo bastante moderna para 2 guitarras. Paco se vuelve artísticamente loco cuando está cerca de Manolo, y toca e improvisa como una bestia. Para mí, es un placer ver lo… Manolo Sanlucar compuso piezas tan importantes como las bulerías “Impetu”, que fue interpretado por Paco De Lucía. Ya cambió el flamenco a partir de los años 70, buscando nuevas consonantes y una nueva expresión rítmica más rota. Manolo fue galardonado con el “Premio Nacional de Música” por interpretación en 2000 y tiene una discografía muy extensa, de su “Recital Flamenco” desde el 1968.
