La Susi is one of the most respected flamenco artists, even among flamenco purists. She was born in Alicante and grew up in a large family full of artists. Her father José María Amador, played the guitar at home. At the age of 14, she went to Madrid with her brother Joaquín, the guitarist. She was not just a talented singer, but also a very talented flamenco dancer (“la bailaora”). She acted in Villa Rosa and then in Torres Bermejas, Las Brujas, and in Los Canasteros, that were famous “flamenco tablaos” from the time. When La Susi started singing one night – nobody would ever let her dance again. And in one of those unforgettable nights in tablao flamenco “Las Brujas” – Francisco Sanchez and Antonio Sanchez, or Paco De Lucia, and his father – discovered her. They decided to produce an album for her, in 1977, “La Primavera”, that had great success. After that, her artistic career skyrocketed..! She was even called “Camaronera” because she went with Camaron De La Isla on tours, followed by Tomatito, who accompanied Camaron at that time. La Susi es una de los artistas de flamenco más respetadas, incluso entre los puristas del flamenco. Nació en Alicante y creció en una gran familia llena de artistas. Su padre José María Amador, tocaba la guitarra en casa. A los 14 años se fue a Madrid con su hermano Joaquín, el guitarrista. No solo era una cantante talentosa, sino también una bailaora de flamenco muy talentosa tambien. Actuó en Villa Rosa y luego en Torres Bermejas, Las Brujas y en Los Canasteros, que eran famosos “tablaos flamencos” de la época. Cuando La Susi comenzó a cantar una noche, nadie la dejaría bailar de nuevo. Y en una de esas inolvidables noches en el tablao flamenco “Las Brujas”, Francisco Sánchez y Antonio Sánchez, o Paco De Lucía y su padre – la descubrieron. Decidieron producir un álbum para ella, en 1977, “La Primavera”, que tuvo un gran éxito. Después de eso, su carrera artística se disparó ..! Incluso se la llamaba “Camaronera” porque iba con Camaron De La Isla en giras, seguida por Tomatito, quien acompañaba a Camaron en ese momento.
